WhatsApp

Send and read WhatsApp messages using numbers connected in the Portal.

Set up once in the Portal

  1. Open Numbers & accounts, connect your business and complete number setup.
  2. Create and submit templates in Templates if you need to start conversations.
  3. Create your API key in Developer tools and configure your HTTPS receiver in Integrations.

Send and receive through the API

List your connected numbers, then send with number_id, to, type and the message fields. A prior quote is optional: one send request calculates the fee and queues the message. Include a unique Idempotency-Key and keep it unchanged on retries. max_platform_fee optionally caps the IllyVoIP fee in EUR; Meta charges are separate.

For attachments, make one multipart upload and use the returned media ID only when its status is ready. Use approved templates outside the customer service window. Saving a contact does not grant consent: record only permission you actually obtained.

Receive incoming messages and status changes through signed webhooks. Use paginated history for retrieval and recovery. A queued message is not yet delivered, and only delivered outbound messages earn an IllyVoIP fee.

Setup stays in the Portal

Business connections, number registration, delivery configuration, disconnection and template editing are Portal operations. Retired management API URLs return authenticated Portal guidance and cannot change setup. The public API does not accept Meta access tokens or registration PINs.
