ILLYVOIP has been delivering innovative VoIP and communication solutions since 2006. We are now seeking a highly skilled VoIP Specialist to take ownership of complex VoIP infrastructures, ensuring performance, scalability, and security across global operations.
Position Overview
This is a senior-level role for an engineer who can design, troubleshoot, and lead projects involving carriers, SBCs, softswitches, and integrations with billing/CRM systems. The VoIP Specialist will serve as a technical leader, mentor juniors, and be the “go-to” person for advanced VoIP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize end-to-end VoIP infrastructures (PBXs, SBCs, softswitches, CRM/ERP integrations).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, including SIP traces, pcap analysis, and interconnection debugging.
- Manage carrier interconnections, least cost routing (LCR), and CLI quality optimization.
- Implement high-availability and scalability setups (clustering, load balancing, VMware/Proxmox/Kubernetes).
- Oversee VoIP security initiatives: SIP brute-force defense, toll fraud prevention, and DDoS mitigation.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead small technical teams, and coordinate with vendors/carriers.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of professional experience in VoIP engineering, architecture, or related telecom roles.
- Deep understanding of SIP, RTP, SBCs, and softswitch technologies (Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Yeti, Kamailio/OpenSIPS).
- Hands-on with routing, billing, and OSS/BSS systems.
- Strong Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) administration skills, with scripting knowledge (Bash, Python).
- Experience with high-availability design and virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated leadership: team mentoring, project ownership, vendor/carrier management.
