9. Mobile App Privacy

This section applies specifically to the IllyVoIP mobile application, including the Android app published under the package name com.illyvoip.illyvoip_mobile.

9.1. Mobile App Data We Collect or Process

When you use the IllyVoIP mobile app, we may collect or process the following categories of data, depending on the features you use:

  • Account and profile information: such as your name, email address, phone number, company information, account role, authentication status, security settings, and account preferences.
  • Communication data: such as call metadata, source and destination numbers, call status, call duration, SMS metadata, SMS content, voicemail information, call recordings, call transcriptions, and related service logs where these features are enabled or used.
  • Audio data: microphone access is used to make and receive voice calls through the app. Audio may be transmitted through our communication services and network partners to provide calling functionality.
  • Contacts: if you grant permission, the app may access contacts on your device to help you place calls, match numbers, import contacts, or sync selected contact information with your IllyVoIP account. Contact access is used only for app functionality.
  • Files and documents: files, images, PDFs, or documents you upload for support tickets, identity verification, regulatory verification, number ordering, or account-related processes.
  • Device, app, and diagnostic information: such as device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, Firebase installation identifiers, push notification tokens, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and security logs.
  • Payment and transaction information: such as billing records, invoices, top-up history, account balances, transaction references, and payment-related metadata. Payment card details may be processed by our payment providers and are not stored directly in the mobile app.

9.2. Mobile App Permissions

The app may request certain Android permissions to provide its core communication features:

  • Microphone: required for voice calls.
  • Contacts: optional, used for contact import, contact sync, caller identification, and easier dialing.
  • Notifications: used for incoming calls, missed calls, SMS alerts, account alerts, and service notifications.
  • Full-screen incoming call alerts: used to display high-priority incoming VoIP call notifications, including when the device is locked or the app is not open.
  • Biometric or device authentication: used for local app lock features. Biometric templates are handled by the device operating system and are not received or stored by IllyVoIP.
  • Network and audio settings: used to maintain connectivity, route audio, and support reliable calling behavior.

9.3. How We Use Mobile App Data

We use mobile app data to:

  • Provide voice calling, SMS, phone number management, voicemail, call queues, reports, support, billing, and account-management features.
  • Authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent fraud, enforce service limits, and protect our network.
  • Send service-related notifications, including incoming call alerts, missed call alerts, SMS alerts, security notices, and account notices.
  • Provide customer support and investigate technical or billing issues.
  • Monitor app performance, diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and maintain service quality.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, billing, telecom, fraud-prevention, tax, and law-enforcement obligations.

9.4. Third-Party Service Providers Used by the Mobile App

We may use trusted service providers to operate the mobile app and related services, including cloud hosting providers, telecom carriers, SMS providers, payment processors, identity or regulatory verification providers, customer support systems, analytics providers, crash reporting tools, and Google/Firebase services for push notifications, analytics, diagnostics, and app infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf or as needed to deliver the requested service.

9.5. Advertising

The IllyVoIP mobile app does not display third-party advertisements. We may still send service-related notices and, where permitted by law and your preferences, product updates or marketing communications through email or other channels.

9.6. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

If you created or manage an IllyVoIP account, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data from within your account settings.

To delete your account, log in to your IllyVoIP account and go to Settings > Security > Danger Zone > Delete Account and Data. You can access the security settings page directly at https://app.illyvoip.com/account/settings?tab=security.

Account deletion may permanently disable access to IllyVoIP services, numbers, billing history, call records, SMS records, and other account-related features. Some information may be retained where required or permitted for legal, regulatory, tax, telecom compliance, billing, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or legitimate business purposes. Where retention is required, we limit retained data to what is necessary for those purposes.

9.7. Data Security in the Mobile App

Data transmitted between the mobile app and our services is protected using encryption in transit where technically feasible. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their device, account credentials, and any local device authentication settings.


10. Data Subject Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Know: Request information on whether we collect your data, and if so, what data, why, and from whom.
  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
