Generate and read a call transcript inside IllyVoIP

Generate and read a call transcript inside IllyVoIP, review the quoted charge and distinguish saved Voice Agent text from new transcription.

Open a call’s Transcript action in Call Reports to read existing text or request transcription when the call is eligible. You do not need to download the recording, clean it in another application or upload it to the Speech API.

1. Find the correct call

  1. Open Analytics → Call History.
  2. Set the date range and the relevant Agent, Direction or other report filters. Check the displayed time zone.
  3. Match the call by its time, direction and public reference. Similar calls to the same destination can appear close together.
  4. Open Transcript from the recording actions for that call.

The transcript window tells you whether text already exists, generation is in progress or a new request is available. If the action is absent, check recording eligibility and account access; a call-history row alone does not establish that its audio was recorded.

The genuine call transcript window offers Dialogue and Raw views. Private conversation text and call metadata are concealed.

2. Read an existing transcript first

A completed transcript can be displayed as Dialogue or Raw where the view controls are offered. Dialogue presents available speaker structure; Raw helps you inspect the underlying text. Speaker labels are not verified identities, and automated text may mishear names, amounts or short responses.

For a Voice Agent call, the window may use the saved Voice Agent conversation and explicitly say that no additional transcription charge applies. This is a different source from newly transcribing an audio recording. If the Portal warns that it may not cover the whole call, retain that limitation when using the text.

3. Generate a transcript when offered

  1. Check that the window offers Generate transcript. If it says transcription is disabled, ask an authorized user to review the recording-suite settings.
  2. Read the displayed duration, billed minutes and cost. Billing uses the recorded duration and the current account rate; do not infer cost from the length of the text you expect.
  3. Choose Generate transcript and review the confirmation before accepting the charge.
  4. Wait for the queued or running state to complete. The window refreshes the result; repeatedly submitting the same request is unnecessary.
  5. Read the finished text and verify consequential details against the call when appropriate.

When generation takes longer or fails

A message that recovery will continue automatically is not an invitation to submit another transcript request. Keep the public call reference and check again later. If a failed state offers generation again, read the current explanation and confirmation before retrying. The settings describe refunds for failed transcriptions; verify the actual account result rather than assuming every delay is a failed, refunded request.

If the call is not eligible, enabling recording now cannot create past audio. If the service is unavailable, contact Support with the call reference, time and visible error. Do not substitute another account’s call ID or try to upload a missing file through another endpoint.

Use the text with its context

Treat the transcript as an aid to review. It can omit quiet speech, combine speakers or misinterpret a word. Check commitments, amounts and personal details before copying them into a customer record. Keep access limited to people who are entitled to review the call.

If you need a shorter overview, use the call’s integrated AI Summary action. Read its own pricing confirmation and verify its conclusions against the transcript; a summary is not a corrected or certified transcript.
