Test your connection to IllyVoIP

Run IllyVoIP connection checks in the browser or Android app, distinguish interruptions from results, and understand what the test measures.

Run the test

  1. Open Connection quality from the account menu, or use the connection-test shortcut in SIP lines.
  2. Check the displayed network and current voice region.
  3. Choose Run test and keep the page open until all three rounds finish. Use Cancel if you need to stop.
  4. Read the results and any recommendation before starting another test.

The test makes short reachability and response-time checks from your current browser. It does not place a call, use your microphone, log in to your SIP line or charge your balance.

Run test starts the browser connection check. Keep the page open while its three rounds finish. This capture shows the start control only; no connection result or call-quality measurement is shown.

What a result does—and does not—show

A successful result means the checked services responded from this browser at that moment. It does not guarantee that a SIP device on another network can connect or that every call will have good audio. The test does not measure bandwidth, packet loss, jitter, Wi-Fi signal strength or real call audio quality.

Use a comparison to narrow the problem

If a check is slow or fails, run it again on another available network. If permitted by your network policy, compare with the VPN disabled. Change one thing at a time so you can identify the difference. A browser extension or company network policy can also affect access.

Still having calling problems?

Check microphone permission and the selected audio device separately. For Support, include the visible results, test time, voice region, network type and the calling symptom. A screenshot of results is useful; passwords and API keys are not needed.

Run Connection quality inside the IllyVoIP app

The Android app in version 1.0.46, build 272 offers Account → Connection quality. It measures response time from the current device network to IllyVoIP and the available voice regions. It does not place a paid call or measure real call audio, bandwidth, packet loss or jitter.

  1. Finish any active call and connect the device to the network you want to check. Unlike the browser’s offline notice, the native app asks you to connect before it starts the test.
  2. Open Connection quality and read Current network and Current voice region.
  3. Choose Run connection test and keep the app in the foreground while it runs.
  4. Read the completed checks, latency and variation alongside any recommendation. A variation figure from these short response checks is not a measured RTP jitter value.

Understand an interrupted test

Leaving the app’s foreground, closing the test screen or beginning a call can interrupt the run. The app cancels outstanding checks rather than treating an incomplete run as a successful measurement. If an incoming call starts, handle the call first and run a fresh test afterward when idle.

An offline message or interrupted run should not be compared as though it were a completed slow result. Reconnect, reopen the screen and repeat under the intended conditions. Avoid changing Wi-Fi, mobile data and VPN settings together; a one-change comparison is easier to interpret.

Read a region recommendation without assuming it was applied

The app can show A faster voice region is available and offer Review voice region. The test does not change the region automatically. Review the actual setting and your use case before any deliberate change. Small timing differences do not establish that the current region is wrong or that another region will fix a destination-specific call failure.

For Support, include the time, network type, selected region and whether the run completed or was interrupted. Add the actual call symptom and reference separately. A good response-time result does not replace microphone, audio-route or incoming-number checks.
