Transfer an active call from the IllyVoIP mobile app

Transfer an active IllyVoIP app call to an available team line or an entered number and follow completion, cancellation or uncertain status.

During an active call in the IllyVoIP app, use Transfer to choose another eligible team line or a destination number. Follow the transfer result before deciding what to do next. Pressing Transfer starts an operation; it is not proof that the intended person has received the conversation.

These steps cover the Android app controls in version 1.0.46, build 272. Use your own account and the permissions assigned to it. Other platforms or releases can have different controls.

1. Prepare the handoff

  1. Confirm that you are in the intended active call and that the recipient of the transfer is appropriate. Tell the caller what you are about to do.
  2. Open the call controls and choose Transfer. If the action is unavailable or another transfer is busy, wait and read the current call state.
  3. Choose Agent/line for an internal destination or Number for an entered telephone destination.

Internal targets are the other active SIP lines the account makes available for transfer. An empty list means no eligible team lines are available in that view; it is not a prompt to invent an extension. Transferring externally can use paid calling service and remains subject to the account’s destination and caller-ID rules.

2. Select the destination carefully

  1. For Agent/line, search the available team targets by name or SIP identity and select the intended line. Check that it is not merely another person with a similar name.
  2. For Number, enter the destination in Target number. Prefer the complete intended international number for an external destination; do not assume a short number has a universal meaning.
  3. If matching contacts appear, inspect the actual number before selecting one. A contact name alone does not establish the correct endpoint.
  4. Review the selected target, then choose Transfer once.

3. Follow the progress and final result

Keep the transfer screen or call controls visible while the app connects the destination. The interface tracks pending, completed, failed and canceled outcomes and can show an uncertain result. Some navigation is disabled while an operation is pending. Do not treat a disabled button as a reason to close the app or start another call.

  1. Wait for the progress message to resolve.
  2. If completed, allow the app to return from the transfer view and verify the resulting call state. Do not start a second transfer simply because you did not see the destination’s own screen.
  3. If failed, read the message, confirm whether the original conversation is still active, and review the destination before another attempt.
  4. If the result is uncertain, preserve that uncertainty and check the current call state before retrying. An interrupted response does not establish that the destination was never contacted.

Cancel only when the app offers cancellation

When Cancel is offered for the transfer, use it if you need to stop that handoff, then wait for the cancellation result. Closing a screen is not a substitute for a confirmed cancellation. If cancellation is no longer available, follow the current result instead of repeatedly tapping Back or End.

This screen does not establish an attended consultation workflow with separate hold and completion controls. Use only the transfer behavior actually offered; do not assume that choosing a target first opens a private conversation with them.

Check a problem with the right evidence

Record the time, original call reference when available, target type and the exact transfer message. Explain whether the caller remained connected, the destination rang or the screen reported uncertainty. Keep passwords and unrelated caller information out of screenshots. Browser and server-API transfers have different controls; use their separate guides if that is where you are working.
