Submit and follow a number-porting request in the IllyVoIP app

Prepare a number-porting request in the IllyVoIP app, review carrier details and attachments, and follow the existing request through completion.

Use the IllyVoIP app’s porting workflow to request moving an existing number to IllyVoIP. A submitted request is not a completed port. Keep the current service active and follow the request’s instructions until the transfer is confirmed.

These steps follow the Android app in version 1.0.46, build 272. Use your own account and the permissions assigned to it; other installed releases can have different controls.

1. Gather accurate information before starting

  1. Confirm that you are authorized to port the number and that its current account details are available.
  2. Collect the numbers, current carrier, account information and address requested by the workflow.
  3. Prepare supporting documents that match the current carrier’s records.
  4. If a porting PIN or authorization information is required, obtain it securely from the authorized account holder.

Do not confuse a porting PIN with your IllyVoIP password or a SIP password. Keep sensitive carrier information inside the porting form and approved support channels. A mismatch between submitted details and carrier records can delay a request even when the number itself is correct.

2. Complete the Numbers step

Open the number-porting area and start a new request. The app organizes the wizard into Numbers, Account and Review. Enter the intended numbers and current-carrier information, then read any validation message before continuing.

  1. Check every digit and the required number format.
  2. Include only the numbers intended for this request.
  3. Review any selected options or eligibility guidance shown.
  4. Avoid creating a second request for a number that already has an open porting case.

3. Complete account details and attachments

Provide the requested account-holder and address details consistently with the supporting evidence. Add the relevant porting documents using the file picker. In the reviewed app version, the picker permits up to five files, with a displayed 20 MB per-file limit and supported PDF, image, Word, text or CSV formats. Follow any more specific instruction shown for your request.

  1. Open each selected file privately to confirm it is readable and relevant.
  2. Check that the document belongs to the account and numbers being ported.
  3. Remove duplicate or unrelated attachments.
  4. Review any required authorization and contact details before moving to Review.

A supported file extension does not mean its contents satisfy a carrier requirement. A generic screenshot may be insufficient when a signed authorization or account document is requested. Do not put account PINs into filenames or screenshots used outside the secure request.

4. Review and submit once

  1. On Review, compare the complete numbers, carrier and account information with the originals.
  2. Correct any mismatch before submitting.
  3. Submit once and wait for the resulting request state.
  4. Keep the returned request reference and check the existing request if the response is interrupted.

The app preserves an operation identity for a submission attempt to help reconcile retries. Do not work around a pending result by creating a new wizard request with slightly changed details. If the outcome is uncertain, inspect the request list and existing case first; contact Support if you cannot determine whether it was created.

5. Respond within the existing request

Open the request to follow its state and read feedback. Use its reply and attachment workflow when more information is requested, checking the picker’s current limits. Keep corrections in the same case so the review history remains understandable. A reply acknowledgement does not mean that a transfer date has been confirmed.

6. Prepare for confirmed completion

Do not cancel the current carrier service simply because IllyVoIP accepted the request. Wait for the confirmed porting outcome and any coordinated instructions. Once the number appears in its final service state, review the intended incoming destination and arrange an authorized inbound test. Confirm the right endpoint receives the call; a completed port alone does not verify your routing choice.

For a problem, provide Support the porting request reference, relevant status and time of the last action. Share only the document or correction requested. Avoid posting account numbers, PINs, signatures or complete customer documents in public discussions.
