The IllyVoIP app separates writing an SMS from reviewing its current sending details and confirming the send. Use that review to check the recipient numbers, sender, text, encoding and quoted cost. A message queued for sending is not yet a delivery confirmation.
These steps cover the Android app controls in version 1.0.46, build 272. Use your own account and the permissions assigned to it. Other platforms or releases can have different controls.
Before you start
You need SMS access, an eligible account and enough available funds for the message. Use an allowed sender offered by the app and recipients you are authorized to contact. Enter numbers with their country codes; formatting validation is not proof that a destination can receive the message.
1. Write the message
- Open SMS and its compose action.
- Enter the intended recipients. Separate multiple numbers with commas or new lines as the composer indicates.
- Choose the sender from the available choices. A displayed sender name does not grant permission to impersonate another organization.
- Write the message, then check the complete text and recipients before selecting Review SMS.
Keep an eye on repeated numbers and pasted separators. If you are sending to a group, verify that every included person should receive this particular message. Do not use the SMS composer as a place to store passwords or account recovery secrets.
2. Read the review before confirming
- Check the sender and complete message in the review.
- Read the recipient count, destinations, encoding, character count, billable segments and total price. A character count alone does not determine the billable segment count.
- Review any duplicate-removal notice or number-format warning. A warning that a number does not match recognized numbering rules means you should check it carefully; it does not guarantee delivery or rejection.
- If a destination can use GSM-7 character conversion, read the shown converted text. Accents and punctuation can change, so verify that the meaning remains correct.
- If anything is wrong, return to editing, make the correction and review again.
A review belongs to the specific message and recipients you prepared. Editing those inputs invalidates the old quote. If the quote expires or the service asks for a new review, read the refreshed terms rather than assuming the previous price and eligibility still apply.
3. Confirm and send once
- Choose Confirm and send only after reviewing the current details.
- Wait while the request is being processed. Avoid reopening the composer and submitting another copy because a button is busy.
- Read the returned result, then return to SMS activity to find the message and its recipient results.
- Check delivery status separately from the sending result and account balance refresh.
If account verification is required, follow the offered verification flow and return to the retained draft. The app can refresh the review after you return; that does not send the message automatically. If a communication review is required, keep its reference and follow the account’s review process instead of rewriting the message merely to bypass it.
Handle an uncertain or unsuccessful send
If the connection fails after confirmation, inspect SMS activity for the intended recipients, text and time before sending again. A lost response can leave the send outcome unknown. A delivery failure is also different from the app failing to submit the message: once a carrier accepts a message for sending, its sending charge may apply even if delivery fails.
For Support, retain the message reference, time, destination and exact error through a private support channel. Describe whether the problem occurred in composition, quote review, confirmation or later delivery. That distinction is more useful than repeatedly trying the same paid send.
